Welcome to my blog. I write about women and leadership, how to find common ground, and what it is like to be a single mom. Thank you for reading!
I'm a native Washingtonian and the CEO & founder of Running Start, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization training young women to run for political office. My work takes me around the country and the world to speak to young women & girls about women's leadership and the need for a better gender balance in politics. I'm also the co-founder and past president of Women Under Forty PAC which helps young women in America get elected to Congress. When I am not working, I spend time with my twins Bea and James Shakow and my fabulously supportive friends and family.
